BrowserActMon is an example Orchestr8
AlchemyPoint Charting
MashUp, otherwise known as a
DashUp. This example is one of hundreds that could be running simultaneously on an
AlchemyPoint server.
The "Browser Activity Monitor"
MashUp is a
ProxyService that examines web content as it flows from the Internet to a user's browser, collecting various activity statistics regarding consumption of media content (blogs, videos, and music). This information is aggregated in the form of an animated dashboard display, shown below:

The dashboard displays the following charts:
Web Browser Activity
- 15 Minute Traffic History - 3d area chart showing the size of web content downloaded by the user over the last 15 minutes, displayed in 15 second increments.
- 1 Hour Traffic History - 3d area chart showing the size of web content downloaded by the user over the last 1 hour, displayed in 1 minute increments.
- 6 Hour Traffic History - 3d area chart showing the size of web content downloaded by the user over the last 6 hours, displayed in 5 minute increments.
Media Content Statistics
- # Opened Blog Articles - 3d bar chart showing the number of blog articles opened by the user from the bloglines.com Blog Aggregator service over the last 6 hours, displayed in 5 minute increments.
- # Listened Pandora Tracks - 3d bar chart showing the number of music tracks played by the user from the Pandora.com Internet Radio service over the last 6 hours, displayed in 5 minute increments.
- # Watched YouTube? Videos - 3d bar chart showing the number of video files played by the user from the YouTube? .com Online Video service over the last 6 hours, displayed in 5 minute increments.
These charts are simple examples of types of data that may be charted using the
AlchemyPoint system; it is capable of dynamically generating charts and graphs to analyze any arbitrary content type. Charting data may be extracted from documents (
XML, HTML, Text, Images, etc), received from an external source (
WebService? ,
DataConnector? ,
DataListener? , etc), input from a file, or from a variety of other means.
